Columbia

This “Shadow Box” styled fence, the Columbia, offers a look popularized by wood fencing, but without the maintenance of a wood fence!  The Columbia is offered in the heights of 5’ & 6’, or if you decide to add lattice, 4’8” plus 1’4” lattice accent for a total height of 6’.  The Columbia is available in the color of white only.  The components that make up the Columbia consists of  3-1/2” x 3-1/2” top  and mid rails, 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” bottom rail reinforced with aluminum channel to prevent the section from sagging, 7/8” x 6” pickets, and 5” x 5” posts.  There is 4-7/16” spacing between each picket.  Since there is a row of pickets on each side of the fence, each picket overlaps the picket across from it approximately ¾” on both sides.  Therefore, if you look at the fence perpendicular to the fence line, you will not be able to see through the fence.  However, if you look at the fence from an angle, you will be able to see through it.  Since the mid rail is centered in the height of the fence section, the Columbia does NOT meet swimming pool code in most Metro St. Louis municipalities.
