Monarch

The Monarch is a very popular style for those who like the look of alternating pickets.  The Monarch meets most Metro St. Louis swimming pool codes in the heights of 4’, 5’ and 6’, and is commonly used in both residential and commercial settings.  If the layout of your fence requires several sections to be cut down from their standard 8’ length, you may wish to choose a different style that doesn’t have an alternating picket pattern.  It’s possible the cut sections could begin with a 1-1/2” picket and end with a 3” picket.  Some particular customers may not like this asymmetrical appearance.
Since the 3” wide picket has much less side flexibility than the 1-1/2” wide picket, this style is better than the Victorian for dog containment.  However, believe it or not, an exceptionally small dog may still be able to squeeze through the 3” spacing between the pickets.  Also, since every other picket has greater flexibility than the one next to it, you may wish to choose a style for dog containment where picket flexibility is not an issue.
